Mid-20th Century French Tapestry

Entitled 'Oiseaux' and designed by Monique Brix, this modernist tapestry was hand-woven in the Aubusson workshop of Atelier Gisele Glaudine Brivet, and is one of a limited series of 5. Composed of a group of stylised birds and flowers, the design is a typical example of tapestry weaving that was made popular by Jean Lurcat and others. It would obviously work well with contemporaneous furniture, but one could imagine it in many other settings too. Clean and in excellent condition.
