Glorious Fine Tabriz Carpet
This is a fantastic Persian carpet. Woven in Tabriz around 1900, it is finely knotted and with an exquisite range of colours. The field design often called the 'Mostafi' design, is dramatic and beautiful. The ivory field with repeating flowers provides a narrow frame for the drama of the field. Note the exceptional size which is very difficult to find. It has survived in good condition with some minor restoration to the ends and selvedges. The thin pile in the field gives the design great clarity and definition making it a truly 'statement' piece. There is just enough even wear to give it that elusive lived-in look. This is a highly decorative palace sized carpet which would look magnificent in the right setting. Professionally cleaned and ready for immediate use.
