Probably of Scandinavian origin, this stylish mid-century kilim it is an exceptional piece. Woven to a high standard with fine quality wool and complex interlocking techniques, it has great graphic appeal. The design of stripes some of which are offset, is broken up an ivory central panel. The limited colour palette of black ivory and a grey-blue is both smart and stylish. In very good condition, the ends and selvages are intact and secured. One can imagine this piece working in any number of contemporary decorative settings.
