Moroccan Berber Carpet
Dated in one place as 1960, this mid-century Berber carpet has great appeal. The soft mountain wool and high pile is virtually all undyed wool, except in a few details where a purple dye, possibly fuchsine, has been used. The design is unusually complex composed of a repeating lattice arrangement, the spaces filled with diamonds, cruciforms and other geometric motifs. Note also the narrow borders along the long axis, another unusual feature. This is a great little carpet which would complement many contemporary room settings. Professionally cleaned and in generally good condition.
