Yomut Ensi
This is a beautiful ensi which dates to the last quarter of the 19th century. Woven with fine velvety wool using the symmetric knot, and wonderful natural dyes, it has a classic format of four panels created by a central cruciform. An interesting featuring are the curled leaves which run along the long borders and through the centre. Lovely elems and lots of other great details. This ensi is a wonderful example of Turkoman weaving. Cherished through the generations, it has survived in really excellent original condition, with a velvety pile. Professionally cleaned. No visible repairs.
