Fine Part-Silk Isfahan Rug
Isfahan rugs are among the most prized of Persian rugs woven in the 20th century. The many fine workshops of the period through up a host of master weavers who
often signed their works. This masterful rug fits into that category. Woven on a silk foundation and with silk highlights this is a fine Kurk wool Isfahan rug from around the mid-20th century. The pale range of colours are particularly appealing as is the finely rendered floral design and medallion. Close inspection reveals the use of silk to highlight and define parts of the design, and which also give it a very luxuriant impact. Cherished by its previous owners through the generations, this rug has survived in impeccable original condition.
