Lakai Embroidery
This is a beautiful piece of Lakai embroidery from Uzbekistan dating to the end of the 19th century. Worked in coloured silks on a red plain weave background, it was probably made originally as part of a robe or clothing. All the dyes appear to be natural. Kaleidoscopic yet serene at the same time. In generally good condition. Orginal lining intact.
