Mahal Carpet

This antique Mahal carpet has very attractive cheerful colours with a repeating Herati design which is spaced nicely and is very easy on the eye. The terracotta background in the field, the greens and yellows are all very attractive. But it is the light blue border which sets this carpet apart, and makes it very decorative. One can imagine it working in many types of decorative settings. The weave is fine and the pile is thin which makes the design crisper and more elegant. It is in generally good condition with signs of use and wear that give it the elusive lived in look. A very decorative carpet.
