Charming Persian Village Rug
Woven in the town of Tafresh in the Hamadan region of West Persia at the end of the 19th century, this cute rug is notable for its lovely array of colours and its simple but engaging design. The colouful medallion appears to be floating above the ivory field which is a design concept borrowed by the Tafresh village weaver from the urban carpets of Tabriz, Keshan and elsewhere in Persia. The wool quality on this rug is really soft and the dyes are all derived from natural sources. it has the additional benefit of being in excellent condition. Professionally cleaned. This is a very decorative piece which could fit into many types of spaces.
