Fine Nain Rug

Woven on a silk foundation and with silk details, this fine wool rug from Central Persia has a finesse about it that catches the eye. One is immediately drawn to the lovely light blue field centred by an intricate medallion and surrounded by elegantly drawn leaves, arabesques and flowers. The ivory floral border provides a perfect frame. The entire composition is enhanced by silk highlights in the details which brings the rug to life. This is a lovely piece from the town of Nain, near to Isfahan, and reflects the high standards and aesthetics of the Isfahan workshops. In excellent condition and professionally cleaned.
