Fine Pictorial Kashan Rug
Dating from around 1920, this charming piece is a typical example of the fne workmanship from the Kashan weaving workshops of Central Persia It has fine Kurk was and is finely knotted on a cotton foundation. The artist has incorporated several scenic elements, including ducks in a river, a village scene and a mountain range to the background. Note the landscape format. This lovely item would work equally well on a wall, a surface or on the floor. It has survived in very good condition, retaining a fully velvety pile and has recently been professionally cleaned.
